Bitcoin exchange rate exceeded $ 40 thousand again
The price of bitcoin began to rise sharply after the head of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk announced on May 24 a meeting with North American miners, at which the topic of using renewable energy sources for the production of cryptocurrency was discussed. The organizer of the closed event was Michael Sailor, CEO of MicroStrategy.
On May 13, Tesla temporarily stopped selling its products for bitcoins due to the non-environmentally friendly method of mining. Musk noted that the company will not accept cryptocurrency as payment until its mining begins using renewable energy sources.
Last week, the bitcoin rate plummeted after Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Liu He called for stricter regulation of mining and crypto trading in the country. Later, the Chinese government news agency Xinhua published an article "Urgently eliminate the hype and chaos around the virtual currency", which indicates the risks associated with the trade and use of cryptocurrencies.
