MetaTrader 4/5 Main Label - Pricefeed and Liquidity

Main Label in MetaTrader 4/5 is not just a visual identifier, but a fundamental setting that connects the broker with liquidity sources, price feeds and API integrations.

In the era of high-frequency trading, it is the correct work with Main Label that allows brokers to maintain a competitive advantage, and traders to receive accurate quotes and stable order execution.

Why does a broker need Main Label?

The Main Label is more than a brand in the terminal window. It acts as a nodal point:

Synchronization with price providers (Price Feed). A properly configured Main Label ensures consistency of quotes on all platforms (Desktop, Mobile, WebTrader).

Liquidity management. Through Main Label, the broker separates client groups and connects them to different liquidity pools.

Integration with MT4/MT5 API. The label allows transparent connection of trading servers with external solutions, including CRM and risk-management systems.

Broctagon Price Feed: An Example of Technological Advantage

One of the bright examples is Broctagon Price Feed. The quote provider aggregates liquidity from more than 50 sources (banks, prime brokers, ECN platforms) and transmits it via Main Label to MetaTrader.

What does the broker get?

tight spreads due to aggregation;
market depth (Level 2 Pricing);
the ability to flexibly customize for different client segments (retail / VIP / institutional).

What does a trader get?

more honest quotes;
less slippage;
predictable order execution.

MT4/MT5 API and the Role of Main Label

API for MT4/MT5 allows brokers to automate key processes:

connection of external systems (CRM, KYC, payment gateways);
analysis of trading activity by Main Label;
customization of reporting.

Here, the Main Label acts as an “access key” to the broker’s distributed architecture: everything related to clients, quotes and trading servers passes through it.

Expert Advisor (EA) Support: Algorithms and Main Label

The modern Forex market is unthinkable without trading robots (EA). The following are important for them:

price flow stability ;
low latency in order execution;
consistency of quotes on all terminals.

Main Label provides a single space where EAs work the same way – be it MT4 Desktop, MT5 Mobile or WebTrader.

Gateway Connect: A Bridge to Liquidity

Gateway Connect is a component that connects MetaTrader trading servers with external liquidity providers. The Main Label here acts as a “routing marker”:

determines which liquidity pool is available to a particular group of clients;
allows the broker to manage risks by rerouting orders to A-book or B-book;
provides transparency when working with aggregators such as Broctagon.
Forecast 2025–2026

Strengthening the role of AI in quote aggregation. Systems will begin to dynamically distribute liquidity flows depending on the client profile.

API unification. MT4 and MT5 APIs will gradually be standardized to simplify integrations.

The growth of the share of automated trading. EA and algorithmic systems will use Main Label data as an entry point into the price flow.

WebTrader and Gateway 2.0. Direct connection to liquidity providers will become standard even in browser versions of MetaTrader.

Main Label is not just a line in the terminal, but a strategic asset of the broker. Its settings determine:

quality of price flows;
correct operation of API and trading robots;

Connect to liquidity via Gateway.
It is brokers who use Main Label wisely to manage prices and risks that will set a new standard for transparency and efficiency in the Forex market.
