Recently, the company prioritized creating a digital replica of Mark Zuckerberg himself—a decision driven by the CEO's personal involvement in training and testing the animated double.
The goal of this initiative is straightforward yet ambitious: to provide employees with a sense of closer interaction with the founder, even when face-to-face communication isn’t feasible. To achieve this, developers are leveraging Zuckerberg’s speech patterns, intonations, public statements, and recent strategic insights about Meta’s future direction. By doing so, they aim to create a seamless experience where employees can ask questions, receive feedback, and discuss ideas as if speaking directly to the man himself.
While still in its early stages, this project differs from another internal effort aimed at building a "CEO-Agent" to assist Zuckerberg in daily tasks such as information retrieval. Reports from The Wall Street Journal suggest that these two initiatives operate independently but reflect Meta’s growing reliance on AI across all levels of operations.

Over the past year, Zuckerberg has doubled down on AI investments, promising to advance toward what he calls “personal superintelligence.” His vision includes catching up with rivals like OpenAI and Google in the race for cutting-edge models. Last week, Meta unveiled Muse Spark, a compact closed-source model tailored for proprietary products. With enhanced capabilities in visual analysis and medical logic applications, Muse Spark was well-received by investors, driving Meta’s stock price up by 7% in a single day.
Sources close to the project reveal that Zuckerberg is deeply immersed in the technical aspects of AI development. He reportedly dedicates between five and ten hours each week to coding and participates actively in technical reviews. This hands-on approach highlights his determination to lead Meta through a transformative era defined by AI innovation.

Meta’s fascination with digital avatars predates the current project. In September 2023, the company launched Meta AI, a suite of conversational agents modeled after celebrities, including Snoop Dogg, who granted permission to use his voice and likeness. To enhance realism, Meta acquired two voice technology companies last year: PlayAI and WaveForms. These acquisitions have bolstered efforts to train the digital Zuckerberg using authentic vocal samples alongside visual data. If successful, similar formats could be offered to influencers and other public figures seeking to connect more intimately with their audiences.

Internal Pressure Mounts Amid AI Push

As Meta accelerates its AI transformation, pressure on employees intensifies. Teams are encouraged to adopt AI tools to streamline workflows, experiment with agent-based systems built on frameworks like OpenClaw, and develop personalized assistants for task automation. Product managers are increasingly required to undergo AI skill assessments, which include technical system design tests and exercises in “vibe coding.”
Some staff members fear these evaluations may foreshadow potential layoffs. However, Meta insists participation is voluntary and emphasizes that the program aims to identify skill gaps and foster professional growth rather than serve as a precursor to workforce reductions.

The introduction of a digital Zuckerberg raises intriguing possibilities—and challenges—for workplace dynamics. On one hand, it promises unparalleled accessibility and efficiency, allowing employees to consult with leadership anytime, anywhere.
